I know and I understand that the tention around the youth house still is very tense. The slogans that remains: “not forgotten, not forgiven” also states that peace don´t come easily. And that I understand. When I saw the art piece I saw it as a positive change to an abandon and at the moment filthy ground. I saw it as a well known and respected artist paying respect to the Youth house and the movement. How ever, some unknown individuals bombed it with paint and took the wording “peace 69″ as an insult. I personally think that’s an act of narrow minded individuals that seeks the opportunity to feel Suppressed. In my view this act is based on looking for trouble and reason to be offended more than looking for possibilities and positive change.

Well, Shepard Fairey chose to restore the artwork, as he meant no hard feelings with it. It appears from his own blogpost that various newspapers, specially Politiken, have been quoting him wrong, by stating that the municipality was paying him to paint…

What I really like was the solution to join forces with local streetartist from the youth house culture, to find a way where they felt represented too. When I read that in the newspaper I though by my self that a powerful piece would evolve from this cooperation.

It did in deed !

Wonderful Copenhagen!

Then Monday morning I wake up to the headlines: Shepard Fairey is painting walls in Copenhagen!

Now thats just amazing! And specially that he is decorating that specific square that once was so beautiful!! It looks like Shepard Fairey is painting different wall´s around town. And it´s amazing to see the different updates on twitter, Google+ and Facebook about it!
By random, my good friend Henrik Chulu came by the Kadaver office today also being exited about the famous streetartist decorating the town. He pulled out his camera and showed me a photo of one of Shepard Fairey´s stickers. Just next to Ground 69. You can see the photo right here on Chulu´s Flickr account.  So when the day was over I took a turn pass the good old ground 69, and saw this fantastic piece of art!

After watching the work I started to stroll around in my hood to find the sticker that Chulu had showen me. I found a lot of brand new stickers in the area… wondering who that could be from…
Some of them was the classic Shepard Fairey sticker called Andre The Giant, others was the Obey sticker! Then the last couple of oriental stickers goes very much in hand with huge wall paint.

I first became familiar with Shepard Fairey when I was during my Internship in New York. This was at the time where Obama actually won the election and used Shepard Fairey´s poster “Hope” as an icon for the election.

Then I found this on Wikipedia about the Election campaign.
In February 2008, Fairey received a letter of thanks from Obama for his contribution to the campaign.^[36] The letter stated:

I would like to thank you for using your talent in support of my campaign. The political messages involved in your work have encouraged Americans to believe they can change the status-quo. Your images have a profound effect on people, whether seen in a gallery or on a stop sign. I am privileged to be a part of your artwork and proud to have your support. – Barack Obama, February 22, 2008^[37]

I would also like to give my reason for why I think it is so bad!
Firstly I find it extremely narrowminded to draw the conclution that violent assults in private residents are made by people from Poland and are due to the Schengen-agreement. Alex Ahrendtsen wants to show short and effectively that one of the main results from open boarders to Germany, is violent assaults in private residents – In his opinion!!
Stats from the police shows differently. The numbers I could find shows 30 burglaries in 16 months and 50 people was caught! and only 1 of them was from the baltic countries.

So the message of this video is firstly generalizing the polish people to be violent thiefs, then stating false facts and finally the hole video builds on fear which is in my opinion a horrible position to communicate from! Why does a politician want to build a society on fear? What good will it bring? I simply don´t understand!

Our wold is getting more and more international so why does Alex Ahrendtsen want us to be afraid of the unknowen?

No Alex, my advice to you is to leave your uptight bow tie at home, pack a backback and travel out in the world and meet people. Sit down with foreigners that you don´t even understand what are saying, and have fun! Bring that experience with you back to you miserable political agenda – And rethink it all!

“Good things comes to those who wait!”

Tonight there is a charity party for the organization in Copenhagen where everybody is invited to come and have fun! We open up the doors from around 22.00. Bring a friend and come and party with us! The adress is Nørrebrogade 68B where Ibis have their office.

We are celebrating that we by now have treated more than 100.000 people, have 140 employees and we have a momentum for growth!

I attended a peaceful demonstration in Copenhagen yesterday to show support for the different democratic forces in the North Africa and in the middle East. It was a demonstration arranged by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke, Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, Amnesty International, Dansk Ungdoms Fællesråd, Dansk Arabisk Ungdom, Palæstinensisk Ungdom og Nasim. acording to the facebook invitation that got spread around the internet!

There where not that many people participating but the crowed was full of people who shared the same dream: peace and democracy in the world! Unfortunately i missed Søren Pind who was one of the speakers. Some hours before there had been a huge viral storm on facebook: “Assimilation af Søren Pind” And I would have loved to see what his reaction was to that! Bassically many 1000 people changed their profile photo to a profile picture of Søren Pind. I did hear Johanne Schmidt´s speech and i liked her energy and many of her view points. I specially liked her finish, “We can not stop Dictatorship, by supporting a Dictator!” with these words I went to Cafe Din Nye Ven in order not to freeze to death.

Lately Jonas took part in the Action Duchenne 10k Love Run in Finsbury Park London as a part of his training for the marathon.

I love this concept! I am a huge fan of Jonas´s work and I see great marketing potential in this type of campaigns. After the Action Duchenne Love run the danish Løbemagasinet wrote a story about Running for balls.

Before the game I looked up the reciepe for a Roethils-Burger… Being a player from the Pittsburgh Steelers team with a burger named after was enough for me to choose which side to cheer for. Which didn´t work out quite so well as the burger!

The Volkswagen Commercial: The Force is for sure my favorite. I love that the theme aint got nothing to do with the car. But the family feeling and experiment around it. Check it out if you are not one of the 20 millions that have already seen it…

I came by this extremely funny little video – Fucksquare –> Foursquare for Sex. Originally it got out through the blog laughingsquid.com but I got from facebook and my good friend Laura, who is blogging a lot of good stuff at www.laurajul.dk. Most of the time i get the hints of laura´s blog from twitter where she tweets about her newest updates with the twitter name: @laurajul.

In order to get the many blogupdates down in written and uploaded to the web, I have decided to move towards a blog containing more material based on inspiration/thoughts/projects and things that I am a part of. Rather than the previous focus circling somewhat around powerful photos.

Now it´s out there, and hopefully this will give this blog a more lively touch

The other day I came by this stencil in Copenhagen. “Min Kamphund har ingen venner” meaning “My pit bull doesn’t have any friends”

I find it as a great way to give alternative focus to the ongoing debate about pit bulls and “fight dogs” specially in the Nørrebro area. It´s now a political issue, if the different dogs should wear protection so the can´t bite. This Danish article is addressing the situation.
I am just a huge fan of artistic people who can make art with a political statement and bring it to the public like the picture above! My Pit bull doesn’t have any friends just underlines the whole debate! Who ever you are: thanks for sharing your work!

I was sitting next to this old man when the rain pored over Shanghai. He was very focused on the newspaper and the cigarette and didn´t pay any attention to me taking the photo what so ever. The photo is edited as HDR photo as I am still practicing that (for me) new technique. Sitting here together with my girlfriend under the umbrella in the rain really made me miss Copenhagen! For so many years the goal has been to explore and discover the world and everything in it! It has changed now in away… I feel more connected to Copenhagen than ever before and I am looking very much forward to get back and continue the great adventure I am living there!

More post will come about the many great experiences and photos I have gotten from this trip! so stay tuned.

Again this is a tryout of the many possibilities the HDR photo technique is bringing. I am still practicing this technique a lot with the canon 7D and would love to get better!

One of the photos I found was this one. A closeup of my brother right after he destroyed his knee. I guess that´s why he aint smiling that much, or maybe it was because I took 35 pictures of him that day. I like this one though and I prefer it black and white. The shadows are so powerful also with colors but the black and white combination describes the situation better. I think… I would love to hear your thoughts.

I have started to practice HDR photography… This was the result of yesterday.. Do you have any hints for HDR shooting?

Yesterday I went to the football game with FCK vs. Rosenborg which was a great game and a hell of a party! 1-0 to FCK who is now going to meet Barcelona… Now that will be fun to see!

Any way.. I left the game with a photo I liked, and that I also would like to show to you, even though I was just playing around :0)

I have been so lucky to spend some days in Amsterdam lately. By strolling around and seeing the city I managed to come by some interesting places and people. I am very fascinated about traveling based on “networks”.. By writing some emails to good friends and taking contact to locals through medias such as twitter, the experience of the city becomes something else. I was recommended to go and visit The Hub Amsterdam which is a creative office space and inspiring network of young entrepreneurs with a drive to create social change. I have heard of the Hub community for about 3 years, and finally I got to see one the hubs. I had a great introduction to the place and a good talk with Bert Meijers who also recommended other things in town to check out, for example the extremely nice restaurant Wilde Zwijnen“. It´s a newly started restaurant with 3 owners aiming to create high quality dutch food based on organic and locally grown ingredients. It was such a good experience with sweet service and good atmosphere. I can highly recommend this place! The locations makes it one of these -non touristic- attractions as it is a bit far from the center and the red light district. Defiantly a most see again!

Tankograd is a movie about Chelyabinsk Contemporary Dance Theater, whose young dancers love and find hope through the art of dance. Chelyabinsk city in Western Siberia is infamous for its extreme radioactive pollution and has unstable contaminated areas that are threathening to spill into the Arctic Sea.
It´s a pending global environmental catastrophe.

The movie gives you inside in the dancers everyday life. I like that you follow a group af people who uses their body for a living, in an area where the human body is being destroyed by radioactivity. For me the movie became an artistic way to shout out about the terrible situation!

Let me start by sharing what we have been working with lately. Kadaver is sharing office with an other company named Bybird. Together we started to work with Arriva, the bus company. The Task was to further develop the campaign “Bedre Bustur” that started last year. We have develop a lot of different initiatives that served to create a better buss ride for the people in Copenhagen. Further more we should create attention around the buss driver, and support him. Some of the initiatives had a bigger impact than others, and one of the things that the World Press really liked was the “Love seats”. 250 love seats was implemented in the busses, and people now had the possibility to flirt with each other. Last week we executed the very last part of the campaign; A birthday celebration of an unknowing buss driver. We created it based on a flashmob with surprising elements. The result was a video that in less than 24 hours created more than 5000 clicks on YouTube.

When I think of blogging, I think of the feelings I had when I tok this photo in Shanghai of old ladies dancing in the streets of Shanghai. Blogging photos like this, is my main reason for blogging at all.

This blog post goes out as an acknowledgment to those who have inspired me to get started with social medias such as blogging, twitter, facebook, ning, flickr etc.

The idea of starting blogging came from the many different projects and travels I experienced during the kaospilot education. But starting a personal blog was with help and inspiration from my good friend Henrique. He taught me why I should use WordPress not blogspot, blogger or any other available service. Hanne Hvattum too had shown the way for what could be done and achieved, and the many stories from them both got me started.

later on, the act of blogging was kept alive by support from various additional blogging friends, to mention some Jacob Klintrup, Mark Hessellund beanland, Anders fredsø, Nicklas peter høeg, Anders graae, Torben Brandt, Abdul and Carl Johannes Borris. Only few of these blogs are still being frequently updated, but the moral support have been there all the way.

When it came to: “what to blog about”, my main focus have always been to show my photos and tell about what I do – think and mean. My friend Morten Jess Nielsen have been a great inspiration to keep developing as a photographer. The talks and practice hours spent with Morten have kept me blogging and blogging. In combination with inspiration from Hanne Hvattum about writing thoughts, experience and dreams, my blog started to take form. Check out Mortens blog here, and more photos here.

On top of all this I have had a lot of tips and trix from my friend Peter Froberg who is an expert with in the field of online social activity. Peter and Henrique inspired me a lot to get started with Twitter, which I now enjoy very much!

Now I have passed on my knowledge to projects like Viva La Renovation, Mr. Green, ByensToner and my company Kadaver.

I still find a lot of inspiration out there, and lately I read the danish book about Digital communication In praxis, “lyt til Elefanterne” I really enjoyed reading it, and can highly recommend it to anyone who finds blogging and various social platforms interesting.

This one is from Aker brygge in the Center of Oslo, The boat, Johana, got the last light of the day, and that setting caught my eye. The Ice sort of leads up to the boat and I used f/10.0 in order to try and catch that feeling. The Shutter speed I sat to 1/160 and the Iso at 400. I still shoot with my old Sony @100.a good and steady friend!

The other photo I took was somewhere near Grunerløkka also downtown Oslo. I can not remember the name of the church, unfortunately. Maybe you can add it here as a comment if you know it? We came by on our way home and I found the setting amazing. I chose not to use an external flash for two reasons: 1) I liked the light shining from above as a sort of “sky light over a church” 2) it was too freezing cold to start messing around with extra gear…
Due to the dark light I took the photo at f/2.8 – shutter 1/5 Iso 400 and 40.0 mm.

In my time in Oslo I got to see great friends from way back! One of them Jo Alexander is blogging here.

When I was browsing through some of the photos on my hard drive from Århus, I came by this one. A photo that tells some of the stories for what you can see when you stroll around the outskirts of the city. I spent 3 years in Århus studying at the Kaospilot education, all those years I missed Copenhagen. Now being back in Copenhagen and finding photos like this one from the hard drive I miss the surroundings of Århus. I snapped the photo last summer when I was walking with my friend Anders Graae. Out of the blue we met this guy who was enjoying the sun and reading the paper. I took the photo back in June and used a f10.0 and a ISO 80, in order to keep the city in the background viewable. I used a 22 mm and shutter speed 1/125. I was pretty fascinated by this man, he had a good calm energy.

If you like concerts and are in the Copenhagen area, you should check out a new initiative by some other friends of mine. They blog everyday about interesting concert in Copenhagen. The blog is called: Byenstoner.dk and they announced Neon girls at Rust too.

The Danish democracy agreed upon the new law called “Lømmelpakken” in order to prevent street riots during Cop15 in Copenhagen, and in order to address the ongoing “gang wars” in Copenhagen. Lømmelpakken makes it possible for the police to arrest people based on assumptions for what they might do later. As my good friend Mark Beanland writes on his blog: that is the society we see in the movie Minority Report directed by Steven Spielberg.

I do understand that the agreement for pursuing with the Lømmelpakke suggestion made sense just before Cop15 kicked of. The police in Copenhagen have had their share of street riots the last years, due to the evacuation and demolition of the “Youthhouse” also known as Ungdomshuset, Jagtvej 69.

Now after the Cop15 fiasco meeting, we, citizens of the democratic and highly educated country – Denmark, still have to deal with Lømmelpakken. As for now there is no attempt to review the law. I could potentially be arrested for writing this blog post as it “could” encourage people to act in a violent way. ?? Amnesty international calls it restriction of freedom of speech.

The Lømmelpakke solution is backed up by 60% of the population, I am questioning why? The demonstrations during Cop15 12th december, in Copenhagen towards Bella Center showed that Lømmelpakken includes every one, not only troublemakers. Amnesty international is of that opinion, that the danish government has to justify every single arrestment. I am too of that opinion! Read  Amnesty´s article in danish here. As one of the slogans against the Lømmelpakke is: Our rights are more important than 3 windows in Børsen!

All these thoughts and opinions are why I went with my good friend Carl Johannes Borris on the streets of copenhagen. We wanted to give the danish citizens a Lømmelpakke for Christmas that they could bring with them home. We made around 300 Lømmelpakker that we started to hand out for free, of course. The Lømmelpakke was a little candlelight and a note stating that you should light the candle for your inner Lømmel.
Fact is that we are all “Lømler” and that is not acknowledged anymore.

By handling out 300 small presents and getting into a conversation with people about Lømmelpakken I became aware of the fact that a heavy number of people are not aware of the existence of Lømmelpakken. I didn´t meet many of the 60% of the population saying yes to lømmelpakken.
Maybe they were afraid of stating their opinion in public?

I am blogging about this, hoping to start some sort of open dialogue around the subject. This is too important and can not just pass by!

Here are some photos of our little act.

One of the most beautiful things I have seen the last two weeks was the demonstration on December 12th. For a very long time it had been announced that this demonstration should be BIG and peaceful. With the one goal: To show the world leaders that the public wants CLIMATE JUSTICE NOW. More than 350 different organizations where participating  and all in all about 100.000 people showed up in front of the Danish parliament, Christiansborg. I was there among the crowd before the speeches started. Walking around and watching all the various cultures, nationalities and creative expressions made me touched. I loved it! People where dancing for climate, hugging for climate, dressed in blue as the ocean or wearing a swimsuit to illustrate that the water level will rise if we don´t ACT NOW. I took some portraits of the lovely climate activists that I met. Some of them will be in the bottom of this post, the rest you can find on my flickr account by clicking Here.

The demonstration started to move from Christiansborg towards the Bella Center. There was music and dancing people all over the place! It was to describe as a Folk Party!! or a carnival. It was all happy times until the very moment where we got stormed by the police. They came from one of the streets on the left. With cars and policemen in battle uniforms, they blocked the road for that part of the demonstration where I was. Luckily I saw them coming and started to take photos of them, and be course of that I managed to pass the chain they made. two minutes slower I too would have been arrested like the 968 other activists. The police say that there was “trouble” with the Black group of people. That they were making vandalism… I saw nothing, I heard nothing and I was there too… Out of the 968 people arrested the police can raise charges against some-what 3 – 10 of them. The rest could go home after 5 hours sitting down on the freezing payment in the cold with handcuffs, and additional 10 hours in the “climate prison”… I can´t understand how that act by the police can be possible! It sounds like something troops are fighting against in Iraq or Tehran…

The worst part this situation is that these 3 – 10 people gets more attention that the remaining 99.980 others peaceful participants in the world media…

I am still trying to figure out what I think about the situation. I live next to it and I see it every day… Personally I am looking forward to have a Metro station nearby, be course the public transport in the area is pretty heavy at the moment. On the other side I don´t find it appropriate to vandalize the graveyard as they do. When it all comes down I value the Metro system higher having this spesific location, than if they should re-allocate the traffic at Runddelen. That would create a damn mess for a long time. I do find it disrespectful for the people who have relatives at the graveyard! When things like this happens I always get impressed abaut the Danes eager to express how bad the situation is. Facebook groups, demonstrations and signature collections are quickly mobilizes. And I always wonder if it helps? As for now I can´t think of a situation where it did, and I am sure there are situations where it helped – and if you know of it, please fill me in. Just looking at the past couple of years at Nørrebro and some causes the public have been against; Danish troops are still in war…(which is sad)  Ungdomshuset at Jagtvej 69 got trashed down any way… (which is a tragedy!!) And now the churchyard? Again and again there are policiance to blame and to point at. On my way to the office this morning I ran into Anne Vang, politician from Social demokratiet. She is an old friend and the female leading candidate representing the social democrates. It made me reflect even more when I further down the street came by this statement on the wall of Assistens Kirkegården – Skønne Danmark (lovely Denmark) – A statement that I entrepritate as full of ironi for the current situation.

The latest episode in the Brorson church where police forces brutally kicks out a small group of Iraqs who used the churche for shelter. Is yet an other black spot on the paper. It is yet an episode where I am embarrassed of being Danish!! read more here. So our debate was heavy! it means something to us!!

While walking and turning the subject upside down and seeing it from different angels I get my eyes on three young tourists in the middle of Copenhagen. They are looking at a map, and talking English/American with a New York accent. After we past them, I stopped and I told my friend – This is a chance to give some foreigners a good impression of Denmark!! So I walked up to them and asked if they needed any help? I happen to know Copenhagen quite well. They needed food, some vegetarian options, local area, typical culture etc. I guess they where 22 – 26 years old. They had been in Copenhagen for 4 hours, and they where thrilled with the guidance and the helping hand. We left them, and the episode had lasted for approx 4 minutes.

It took us 4 minutes to leave the impression that “Danes” are helpful. Our debate continued.

2 hours later we where on our way home. Getting close to the café where we directed the New Yorkers, we thought it could be interesting to hear their thoughts on the subject. By coincident they came walking, just in that very moment where we wanted to find them. We stopped our bikes and asked if they liked the food. They absolutely loved it! (said with a great New york accent) We started to chit chat back and forth about the place, the culture, every thing – big and small. regular small talk.
After a little while we came into the subject of their stay here in Denmark. One of them says: We are dancers, and we gonna do a performance here in Tivoli. It turned out that they are part of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company! – now, I don´t know anything about dancing, but it happens to be my girlfriends living, and she has been talking so much about that specific company. I told the dancers so, and I also greeted them for being dancers in one of the worlds best dance companies. One question let to an other and 5 minutes later I had two free tickets for the show…

This was a short story from my life and an encouragement to all danes about starting to “re-brand” Denmark to a more friendly place! All change comes from within… I think someone told me that once…

The next couple of photos are from our TFC, where we take care of children suffering from Malnutrition, unfortunaltly our little friend here on the first photo died two days after the photo was taken. May she Rest in peace.

Here you have Maria one of our medical students from Denmark doing a quick examination of the child in the morning hours.

The last photo here from the TFC shows a small happy camper with a great smile.

I got the possibility to join a Hernia operation, and the guy really needed that surgery! He is all good now, and this operation took about two hours in local anesthesia. It makes a big different for the locals that they can get these kinds of operations nearly for free!

So when walking around the compound you get to see many different things. There are a lot of happy kids and smiling people, and also people who are sick or needs help. I will upload some different photos to give the best possible impression.

I have uploaded some of the photos I have captured during these first days here. They show the illness and the mixture of happiness. the First two are from a stroll through Masanga village with my friend Rasmus Dahlin. He was here for two years ago as one of the two first volunteers for the project. I am not joking when I say that the whole village knew who he was! It was a warm welcome with many smiles! -here are some of them.

At last there is a photo of how bad Hernia can look like if it does not get treated on an early state. The operation took aprox. 2 and a half hours and the man is now up and walking again. I have never seen anything like that before!

i think this video i spretty amazing, I love the stop-motion effect in it, the story, the time perspectives, the frees effects and the outcome! – enjoy!

First i came by this piece of street art, with the writing on it, saying: Forget my name. and then the “for” is tagged. When i saw it, my thought was that it had to be realated to the artist “husk mit navn” (remember my name – for the none danish readers)  so i started to look it up when i got home, and i found some interesting stuff: Apparently Basco5 have experienced the same when initiating the campaign.

By walking further I came by one of many abandon bikes in Copenhagen, I see them and i think of the great project named Baisikeli, that deals with this issue by helping people in Africa at the same time.

In the very end of my walk, just before getting to my flat i finally had my camera with me to document two of my (at the moment) favorite street art pieces.

Now some say graffiti is vandalism, other say graffiti is “spamming”, I will like to post the question: which of these 3 messages are most valuable? 1) The cheap flight ticket with Sterling? 2) The real estate agency Nybolig? or 3) the tag ELSK (love) as an encouragement to spread love?

I will choose no. 3 at any time!

Any way, here are some photos from my walk. A lot of people has asked me lately if I “photoshop” my photos before posting them on the blog. Normally I correct them a bit, Yes. And then the next question goes: don´t you then manipulate the photos? To answer this question; these photos from Copenhagen night time are 100% untouched. Then you can judge yourself rather it´s manipulative to use photoshop or not. (I have croped the photos, but not color corrected them)….

While searching around for inspiration, knowledge and updates in society I came by this statement:

The photo is from a webpage named “zero carbon caravan” a group of people protesting for a Carbon neutral planet. as they state on the page: “We are making our way to Copenhagen without using fossil fuel transportation. Along the route we’ll connect with local groups to establish an itinerary of ‘zero carbon conferences’ to build momentum for zero carbon awareness.”

i think is´s a good and needed initiative and i like it a lot. Maybe Viva La renovation should team up with them on the last bit of the caravan.

Financial brakedown or not, there is still a planet to be concerned about.

During Night time we had story telling from the older generation to the young generation, passing on knowledge and experience from when they where young. -the so called “old days”-  In our society tradition are quickly leaved behind in our rush for development. In the below situation Knud Rasmussen is telling about how it was to grow up on a farm in the country side. It was an experience without comparison and it made me think “what will i be telling in 60 years from now?”

Today it´s thanksgiving and New York seems dead! -just like Shanghai did in the New Year holidays. Funny how these busy cities can turn into gost towns.

After an hour or so (honestly i got no clue about time in this situation) the singing stopped, and the “Father” went on stage. listening to him reminded me of Chris Tucker in the movie Rush Hour. What a fabulous way of presenting the bible in. I would like to state that i am not really a believer in the sense they where. Neither do i consider my self religious. What i therefore found interesting was the way how the bible got related to different every-day-life-situation. How we choose personal development and thereby effect our surrounding and how a majority of people present them self through their problems. Just think about it for a minute; when a friend of you asks how things are going, do you then tell about what is going well, or do you state your problems in life? My dishwasher machine is broken, My chain jumped of my bike, the bartender pored milk in my coffee…. etc. I got pretty inspired about these perspectives, though i had to sort it out from a lot of God and Jesus talk. The statement was -Live your life! only you can live your life, you can´t live your fathers life, neither your mothers. YOU can ONLY live YOUR life. That message i like, despite any religion preaching it.

So dear reader: who ever you are, “live your life” and live it your way!

When Obama held his speech, New York held it´s breath. I wanted to take photos of the people listening to the historical speech, their faces and the look in their eyes was amazing. On the other hand I wanted to hear and see what he was saying to the world.

This wall is situated in East Harlem, New York City, where I live at the moment. I think it´s a strong message to send to the world, and it cheered up my heavy head from the Halloween night, only few hours ago…

I would like to post some photos taken in Central Park today, the light was extremely nice to practice manual settings on the camera. These are some of the results from today:

I also captured some photos the other night during Halloween. I was surprised to see how many people dressed up as something “not scary”. Here for example are two really sweet Indians. At least i didn´t find them scary….

When settling in we have done what we like doing the most; getting lost in the city, walk around, finding a way back and then get lost again. suddenly something happens and the experience turns out amazing. We ended up way-out in the middle of nothing in the industry area of Brooklyn, where we were told a new music scene had started. A new bar with a scene playing upcoming bands, a great atmosphere and 5 weeks old. There was literally nothing in the area, even though people came popping up, walking in the door. smiling, and enjoying the music. check out the venue space here http://www.thebellhouseny.com/

Last night after walking the Brooklyn bridge when the darkness crawled over Manhattan, we wanted to check out a local poetry club. The plan was to chill and lean back with a beer and listen to some slamming political poetry from the local youths. We found the place and paid the entrance, went to the bar, got a beer and then started to move towards the stage. Here we began to pay attention to the crowd we where in, all dressed in black – gothic kind of people – very heavy metal inspired- and out of the blue a massive death metal band started to scream and play loud trash metal! we where standing in the middle of New york subculture for extreme heavy metal!! it was a setup arranged by a group called “heavy hitter inc” and different bands from all around had a short performance. They were extremely technically skilled and it was an amazing experience -though not expected-
The “so called dance” in the front of the stage ended up in a massive fight, suddenly the bass player jumped down from the stage and gave all he had to stop the fight… the music stopped and after a while the fight stopped as well. Both Johannes and I, was standing so far in back that we had no chance to either see what happened or stop what was going on… light got switched on, trouble makers kicked out, band members being upset for idiots destroying their performance and two Danes observing a New York underground subculture boiling. We left when the beer was finished.

So basically we have spend our time feeling the American culture, tasting the fast food, talking with locals and getting lost -not in translation this time, more in madness-

I am about to leave for my Internship as a senior at the Kaospilot together with my colleague and good friend Carl Johannes Borris. We will be working for a Company named Export-company started by Startup-company. Our task will concern research and understanding of Guerrilla Marketing and that should lead us to a Concept developing stage, where we can start looking at ways of dealing with alternative marketing.
luckily we have been hooked up with a friend of a friend where we can stay the first couple of days. From there on we will see what happens, and hopefully we find a flat to settle in, we are mainly looking at Brooklyn. I have used CouchSurfing a lot when traveling before, and from looking at the CS – NYC community online it seems as this trip will be a blast!
By now i am recharging my batteries for the trip, and getting ready for a smashing night out in Copenhagen!

12. september udkommer bogen ”Social Innovation – A Travel Guide”, som samler de mange definitioner og begreber inden for social innovation. Læseren får et overblik – et landkort – til at manøvrere i en tid, hvor de sociale aspekter kommer mere og mere i fokus, også i forretningsverdenen.

Bogen er opbygget som en rejseguide med kapitler som The Landscape, Famous Travellers og Social Innovation in Action og henvender sig både til små og mellemstore virksomheder, sociale entreprenører, studerende inden for businessfagene og andre, der er nysgerrige efter at vide mere om social innovation.

Bag bogen står team13, afgangsstuderende fra den kreative lederuddannelse, Kaospiloterne, i Århus.
